All About Pierce Racing
Back To Home Page
Pierce Racing started some 30 years ago. The team started with Dave Pierce. Dave raced for 19 years, on the MASCAR Tour (Now called Maritime Prostock Tour). Dave had many heat race wins, and many B feature wins, but never won a main feature. Dave's best Finish is a main feature was 4th twice (Island speedway NS, and Petty NB).
Dave's son Shawn started driving Street Stocks at Moosehead Speedway, in 1998.
Shawn drove street stocks from 98-2000. 2000 was a turning point for Pierce racing. Dave who had been racing for 19+ years decided to give up driving, and foces on Shawn's driving. 2000 was also the end of the MASCAR tour. Dave was one of the only drivers that race full time, every year that the tour was running.
2000 Pierce racing built a maritime sportsman, to compete in sportsman races at Moosehead, and other tracks in the Maritimes.   Shawn won the rookie of the year at Moosehead Speedway, and had some good races at Center For Speed, and a fourth place finish in PEI. That was one of the high lights of the year, because the Island modifids cars are much faster, then a sportsman car, and we still came out of there with a good finish. After the 2000 season the team looked at the cost of a sportsman, and a prostock, and the two were not far apart. So in 2001 Shawn moved in to Dad's old car, and started on the Maritime Prostock tour
